for example i tried hotbird 13.0e and then when i try to go on automatic satellite search for 13.0e it says all known transponders have been tried but no lock was possible verify attenna cable setup

you need to post more information m8, have you chose many satellites via diseqc motor in the menu,s?? are you using a fixed dish/multi-lnb set up or a motorised dish. regards mdt

hi.
first thing first,do you have a motor setup?if not then you can only view what satellite it is pointing at.if you are on a motor.you will have to scan for other satellites,this will only work if your system is set up properly.you will need to set your longitude your latitude.etc .see motor setup forum.good luck.im new to this aswell and you will get some good advise from this site.

thanks but you know the 12 or more sky box office channels i got all of them are blank

i thought they would be movies or previews of movies or paper view previews

you will not get any sky box office channels on a normally configered TM 500(or any nds encrypted channels)

Peter, as johnnyquango has asked (but you did not reply) have you got a fixed dish (one dish bolted to a pole) or have you got a motorized dish?
If it is fixed then you will have to loosen it and move it slightly to your right(standing behind the dish) to pick up 19e or 13e etc. remembering that you will then lose 28e in your search for something else.
More information would be helpful.
