Thanks for the info.

I did mean that I think the stb is in need of replacement. I subscribe to the usual in the UK but I spend most of my time away (living in a B****y caravan Hhhmpphh) so I cannot get to see what I am paying for. My understandin is that I will need two new stb's to rectify this situation or am I being thick.

you could just bring the official reciever with you
or most of the recievers would read the card but not update
