i am thinking of getting one of these wil lthe run the black hole image as i like it al ot very simple to use

They can run 'out the box' the manufacturers official firmware and third party firmware from VTI and PLi. They can also be made via the Barry Allen plugin to run most every image for the DM800/DM8000 but in all honesty you would be best off using the images intended for this receiver, the long and short of it is they work, and they work well! I would say VTI is the most stable of the third party firmware at the moment, but PLi is probably my choice for the choice of plugins via menu downloads and the fact I've always been a fan of the PLi images!
