ViX Team VU+ Ultimo OE3.0 Release

can anyone point me where to download this from please . I am new to the VU scene and have just bought an Ultimo and am just setting up and was hoping to flash this image.

I have found the image and have it on a USB stick . Do I just put it into front USB and turn the Ultimo on ? Do I have to update anything else first . I have been looking for a guide for dummies but can't find any information.

Don't have ultimo but I assume same as uno and duo get file for ultimo unzip load to usb insert usb follow on screen display on box. Make sure and take the time to choose correct file.

I would be most grateful if some kind soul could point me in the right direction to a Dummies tutorial for this.

Just bought a Vu+ Ultimo and need Directions.

I have scoured the forums ,but the ultimo information is pretty bleak for us newbies to this receiver.

I came across your Vu Duo Tut m8 and was wondering how it differs from the Ultimo.?

Great Tutorial BTW and this should steer me in the right direction.

Gotta get my head round all these plugins and cams

It doesn't differ at all m8, VU's are basically all the same setup,
all you need is yer image, yer cam, and yer line to get you up and running, the rest you can learn about later on, nothing hard about it :-)

I see this release 15/08/2012-OpenViX3.0.204 on the front thread
Can you tell me if this is the image to install?
There seems to be updates as the posts progress
last being OpenViX 3.0-268 .
I have also came across this on WOS
openvix-3.0.574-vuultimo_usb.zip.

Which is the best image to use for 1st time flash via usb. and do I need to do any upgrading to the kernel ect before I flash an image to this VU+Ultimo box.
Also do you advise my to Backup the original image out of the box ,before I do anything ?

I have acquired also this cam file
(enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.3.0_1.0_mipsel.ipk)
I suspect this is the latest version ?
I also have my other info at my disposal.

So steps are
1: flash image (which one??) via USB front panel
2: configure tuners and scan for channels.
3: install enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.3.0_1.0_mipsel.ipk
4: Add my other info via menus

I know this looks rough but I presume it looks like the basics to get me up and running.?
If this is not so Please say.
Would it be best to install the WD 2TB Green 1st before I start flashing or messing with the box.?

Use wos ultimo image and if you don't want to scan ftp latest channel list to box ie catseye list also remember to mount hdd using mount manager and set path. Do this after you configure box.

There is no need for you to do a channel scan, you can use a premade bouquet or you can use the inbuilt ABM to auto generate a full sky uk channel list which corresponds to skys numbering system.

I was really undecided on which Image to go for ,Vix or BH , But I am going to go with the Vix snd instal l8r on 2nite.

Hopefully There will be no hiccups , but I am sure there will be.

I have a WD 20EZRX 2TB Green I am a little concerned about the spindowns on the green models? would this affect media recording ect if I used this Drive in the Ultimo.

Edit: seem that there is problems with 2TB drives in all VU receivers , so looks like Iam gonna have to plull the 1TB samsung F3 from my pc and use this..on a bright note thou it`s gonna give me some extra storage on in the pc.
