This looks well worth waiting for (twin tuners).

I think not buying a TM800HD for a while is also wise. If they have hardware problems with Rev 1.0 you don't want to be lumbered and also the price will fall so you will not take the hit.

A twin tuner'd type spriderbox with agift from TM would be awesome for circa ?299!

the 8000 has been in development for about a year, only a few people knew about it, one of 3 receivers but only one was partly publicised

so the TM800HD linux is one, the TM8000HD Combo is another, which means theres a third, so far, unmentioned anywhere, receiver as well............

as long as the end users (the public) are looked after, and supported, even if it is by 3rd parties, the politics behind big companies doesnt interest me, never has, and probably never will

im a tinkerer, and do it because i can, if technomate changed their name, the receivers would still be good receivers with about 7 years of support behind the closed source receivers, and now linux receivers are on the scene, the support of enigma based plugins and images can be ported over easily enough, more easily than the closed source products

a good example is how much the openPLi image source has been modified to run on the TM800HD, as can be seen below in my post copied from another forum

    peace

this video starts off on the last image release, then updates to todays release, via miniweb (called miniroot) and USB, flashes the image, reboots, starts the setup wizard, ive seen people on other forums saying the last video was fake as there was no menus, so let this run, right through the setup wizard, then to the download panel, downloaded a channel list, reloaded the channel settings, and zapped to a HD channel

all in 5 mins, and ALL captured on film

the only pause was when i couldnt reach the remote AFTER the wizard started, so i suppose the video could be about 5 seconds longer
