This sort of problem is very common, as when anyone changes the operating system they always seem to forget about getting the hardware drivers first.

I.E: network, wifi, usb2, graphics, screen & function, as you have found out..

You don't state what model vaio you have, but if the drivers for your network/wifi are working & you can get internet on the laptop then that's half of the battle sorted.

I have listed a few ideas below that I would try if it was my laptop, it's up to you if you want to try them m8.

    --------------------------------------

I do not have a sony laptop so I cannot answer what info their webite require you to put in, but have a look here:

    Support : Sony Asia Pacific

    1. Enter model number in the specified field. Click CONTINUE.
    2. Choose which region you're in.
    3. Scroll down to DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE and click on SEE ALL FILE DOWNLOADS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR MODEL.
    4. Now in the SELECT YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM field, if you cannot see Windows 7, then try windows xp, as much the same.
    5. have a look for the hardware drivers you need.

    ----------------------------------------

If that did not help then you could try driver updating programs like "driver magician", which will find what drivers your laptop has & then it will go online to find the updated ones.
Do not pay for the program, have a look in the pc software section on here for it, if you still can't find it let me know & I will upload it on here, but I am sure I have seen a few copies on here though m8...

Hope this helps & you get it sorted...

p.s. Here is an FTP directory from Sony that has windows 7 upgrade drivers that might help...

    ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/VAIO/WIN7UPGRADE/

And there are 2 zip file that could sort you out..

    "12/08/2009 10:37AM 2,787,273 7UPG_VAIO_CONTROL_CENTER_2.2U_2.2.00.12180.ZIP
    12/08/2009 10:37AM 3,395,387 7UPG_VAIO_CONTROL_CENTER_4.0U_4.0.0.07280.ZIP"

Ok, for the mod number that show try here:

    Vaio : Sony Europe

On the left hand side you should see your make & mod number showing, as I have typed it in for you...

On that site it states that your mod is not supported for win7 upgrade, but then it also states that it depends if you are upgrading from XP or VISTA.
Not sure which one that you have upgraded from, but I would guess it was XP..

The bad news is there's no drivers for your mod showing under the win7 tab, but the good news is it looks like there is an "auto updating" program you can download, you could try that & see if it will update the drivers that it needs.
Or you could try the "Updates" tab & pick the ones you want from there & see if that cures it..

Did you also look for & try the Driver magician program that I told you about
