What does it do more than Multiply by 1.6 , and divide by 1.6 ?

ah ok, I thought there could have been something else that adds to conversion complexity. since I mostly repair dashboards, I dont do much of odometer programing so I'm new to it and dont know much, so thought I'd ask.
