??I have original MPPS,and updating from 1xxx to 3xxx was only getting a code from them,install new soft received by mail and update FW...did not need send back my interface??

so you have the key to make all s-mps first gen clones work with new software.... ;-)

i know 6 people that had to send back first gen mpps and recived back new design cable. (explain was that the hardware was also updated)

i try to make gsmtech cable and viaken box work with parts of my clone. and software works. but not possible to write the ecu's that came later in the carlist.

Not possible to use new dump in old (erased) ic.

gsm tech cable are legs cut off from ic. on my clone. they are connected if i desolder them i have same problem. can't write latest added ecu's. so it needs those connections to make it work.

ps; to make sure, i did not cut, they are sold like that.


I think more easy to look for good clone, than put a lot efford in upgrading old clones. Always look for clone sold with latest software. Big chance they are update proof.
clones sold with old software can't be upgraded. if so the seller would have done that to sell "latest version"...

My ori and clone are different from yours. Its in a box with separate usb and OBD connector,not all in one...like ori KWP2000 once...

Only difference i see,some parts changed...

Example clone have clock...ori one have some blue 3 pin i donno what(sorry),and some resistors other values...

Still checking all differences...

hello, the old mpps with 1.0.0.100 version can be update until version 3.0.0.17, after all updates will block the interface so dont try it.
to update:
after having the 1.0.0.100 instaled (never install other version first time it will block)
1- install the version 1.0.2.8
2- change pc date before 02/2010
3- plug the usb cable and see if above it make the firmware update (install driver if asked).
4- you can try read a ECU
5- disconect usb smps
6- install V3.0.0.17
7- conect cable usb and run software
8- it will update firmware
9- in the screen it will ask a code, copy the code that is in this screen
10- close the software
11- open the software
12- put the copied code in the ask code.
13- try to read

note this update is not alowed by the chinese supplier, if the smps block the waranty is not covered.

The 3.0.0.17 version is more instable then 1.0.0.100 I put here this info but not recomend enyone to do this update.

Theres a new clone for mpps with new hardware, it cames directly with V3.0.02.19 software.

I have 2 old smps blocked, I need also information for reprograming them.

I updated now from Viaken MPPS V1.0.0.100 to

1.0.2.8 made FW update....try read ECU edc15 at table NP

3.0.0.17 made FW update..try read write ecu at table NP

Then i have tryed to update to 3.0.2.14 and 3.0.2.19,but get asked that code..which has to be copied and close soft,reopen and paste code...but for 3.0.2.14/19 this does no longer work...how to modify the code to get MPPS starting?

I m sure once i have this code,it will work,as i connect the interface it does not show FFFFFFFF but always his serial number.

Btw, this morning i made scirocco tdi (edc17) work with mpps and bootcable.! works like a charm. no resset after vas connection.

first attempt a few weeks ago (straight to obd) was bad. but now with bootcable on the bech, it works super.
184hp and 390Nm on the dyno...

Yes, someone its updating old mpps to new version, but its not only the key that they need to update...

i also explain here. recognizing software is one thing. making s-mps flashing edc16c39 or edc17 is another.
write will fail.

i tryed the mcu from good clone om gsmtech cable and on viaken clone. Not working. software yes. write saab 93 ecu NO. software say ok. write stop on 9%

mcu in good clone write 100%

so mechanical/electrical restriction is more important than software.

just hack the software so it don't need cable serial should be more easy to do than dumping the mcu.
