Default Does a device connecting to the ODB2 port need a termination resistor (120ohm)?

I have a Raspberry Pi CAN bus hat, but it has a soldered 120ohm resistor between CAN high and low. Does anyone know if I need to remove this to allow me to read and write messages to the bus via the ODB2 port?

Looks like removing the 120ohm resistor did not help. I will keep trying different common baud rates until I identify the correct one. Assuming that's the problem, this can be marked as effectively resolved/closed.
