    Default Reviving ni-cad batteries

Does anyone know if this is possible ?
there's an American seller on ebay , selling a dvd that offers a 98% sucsess rate at "reversing the crystalline effect" , in ni-cad battery packs and returning them to as new condition .
I've all kinds of dead ni-cad packs around the home and this would save a small fortune if it worked .
You know what they say though , "if it sounds too good to be true !" , it generally is .

Intreasting, the word on the street is that when ni-cads go bad, the chemicals turn into cystals, which expand putting tiny holes in the paper insulation, so even so they will still 'leak' power.

Oh the other word on the other street is Ni-Cads are no more, all exsiting stocks are what's left over, altough certain devices they are still avalible for, eg battery drills etc.

If it works then it's worth a go

Oh think but not sure something involves a bucket of hot water.

    DENDRITES!
    EVERYWHERE!

    .

When you leave nickel cadmium batteries for a while without using them they form dendritic crystals which as meat said pierce the substrate membrane and cause shorts.

you can actualy cure this by strobing them with a few amps, do it wrong though and you'll release oxygen.
Do it very wrong and you'll release hydrogen which when hot goes bang. (this is because of the potasium hydroxide electrolite breaking down)

The news gets worse, even if you manage to reform the dendrils to become usable, they remember what it was like to be solid and want to get back there as soon as possable, so you get between a few days (enough to leave feedback on ebay) or at worst a few hours (which means a "hey i said 98% i guess you where one of the other two" messages)

Your initial gut was bang on melloned, it really is too good to be true.
