looking to get my wifes mk6 gtd stage one, wondering which tool is needed

Depends what engine, all genuine tools will be able to do it, most clones can but will most likely be ecu out job

its a 2012 170 gtd 2.0, and only clone interfaces are available to hand at moment

No real read by obd possible...
