    Default Help with KESS/KTAG

    Help for a newbie:
    Greetings to all.
I just started my first steps in ECU reprogramming with KESS and KTAG machines, and there are several issues that I would like clarified.

1 If I have to change an ECU because it has been damaged, I read the donor one, but then in the new ECU, what file do I write to it?
I supposed to replace the damaged one, so won't that reading also be damaged?

2 I assume that when we are going to perform an IMMO OFF I have to do it with an external software, I cannot do it directly with KTAG, that is?

I read the EEPROM with KTAG, I perform the IMMO OFF with IMMO TOOL and then write that resulting file again in the ECU with KTAG.Right?

I hope you can answer my questions and learn from the best.

    1. It all depends on the ecu you need to replace
In one case it is enough to copy only the eeprom, in another you need to transfer the full one
If you have damaged software, you will transfer the fault to the new ECU
In this case you need to add ecu or turn off immo

    2 In short, YES

I prefer Ktag for this type of work
