    P0070 - Ambient Air Temperature Low Input
    (02) - Present
    P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
    (0D) - Present

    bit of both, well not so much workaholic, had 2 go stafford 2 check that car then had 2 go halifax 2 drop some1 off and on way back got stuck on M6 for a few hours due 2 "lane closure" and when i got home replyed 2 thread hence the 2am

    On live data see what 'ambiant temp' is reading, +50 (no 'choke'?)
    also engine coolant temp
    try putting an earth onto the engine ecu

    THINK WRONG lost a 5volt output from ecu, (pin out air-flow meter?)

    if smoking suggests getting hydro carbons into the combustion chamber area, more concerened (lieing) about the 'P340' did have a shit-roen where had the guy not identified himself the bill would have been cheaper (pissed us off few months earlier), short story was the fan belt was the wrong one and being french it decided to 'suck' it in like eating some spagettigi (new spelling) and the belt had 'insulated' the cambelt from the crankshaft (pulley) this came up with 'P0340' (too lasy to check' "Lumpy stick & crankshaft syncronisation failure"

    (OFF TOPIC BUT RELEVENT)

    The word on the street, Ford mondeo/transit they have a hydralic cam chain tenshioner ($35 + vat - remember to change keyboard settings if you use the 'XP Lite from DK otherwise no pound sign).

    Anyway they 'grow' with hydralic pressure of the oil, and the ratchet collapes and no tension on the chaain, turn key, crank tw*at, clang

    No idea how this one is done dude

    WOW Halifax to Stafford and stuck for 4 hours in traffic tell the guy to find their own way home next time.

    i wud but thats relatives 4 u
    and it was from west midz 2 stafford then halifax and back 2 the west midz

    now the thing is in live data i seen changing figures for all the components ie, hairflow, ambient etc

    so its gta be something else

    your problem could be a number of things, if your battery was low and you jumped it, it could throw a few problems due to power surge, disconnec the battery for 10 minutes and then try again.
    if the pump ecu has failed it could show these faults, sometimes this can be an easy fix as simple as having the offending part re soldered, but this must be done by an expert, not something you can do unless your conversant with these modules
    sometimes it could be as simple as loosing connection with the key, again disconnecting the battery for a short while could help.

    try a sniff of easystart,using this, see if it is anygood <CAUTION ADULT CONTENT> then try squirting some into engine if it runs then keep looking, if it don't, game-over insert coin.

    Remember to only squirt for one second whilst cranking, as it's good stuff
    can blow crankshafts in half, awesome

    P0340
    seen it on a transit 2.4 last week....inlet cam retarded (slipped 2 teeth)
    SYMPTOMS: tries to start, smokes and may just tickover for a couple of seconds but wont rev. fires and runs on easystart.

    Intreasting, the stuff must be that volatile it just expands and doesn't worry about the airleaking out.

    Try inhaling the easy start (see above link in my last post), then try brake cleaner as a fuel.

    Other dumb question would be, to crack off one errector and see if you get a foutain of diesel.

    DAMM diesel, vauxhall they let air in, on fuel filters, but the main concern is P0340.

    Think your going to have to get your mates hands dirty and check the lumpystick timing.

    Does your live data have a setting something like

    "Lumpy stick sysncnisation - no" with engine stood still and
    "Lumpy stick synscration - yes" with engine cranking, this would theroatlly
    rule out a mechanical fault, or wiring has brojken to ecu, or ecu is ~~~~ed.

    hi, wiring has been checked
    same symptoms as nutloose description

    will get camshaft checked,
    @del wouldnt i get an error code for a egr valve if that was the problem, i ran an egr actuation and it was fine

    Trust me if its sticking/clogged right open it will try and try and may run a few seconds with foot to the board with white smoke everywhere! Like timing is too advanced. Did it move smoothly and is it closed completely? egr code wont come up if the ecu 'thinks' its working ie electronically ok but physically damaged stuck or just plain clogged.
