Default VCDS / VAGCOM- REFLASH FAILS to write firmware

    Hey everyone,

I've been going on for hours looking on how to fix an issue with a cable that I have, trying to flash it.

But it just does not work. And it just says that it fails to write the firmware. Could anyone give me a hand?

Attaching a screenshot of what happens + information about the cable and the board itself.

    Hello,

    You have a HEX-V1 cable.
    This cable is not repairable.

The software only works with HEX-V2 cables (Chip Atmega162)

I checked the readme, but it only shows the HW 44/46 there is nothing that can show 42 and how it looks.

The cable is marked VAG 12.12 and it does say Dual-K & CAN to USB VAG/ISO Interface.

As for the board I can upload more images. I am not that savvy with boards.

As you see on the VAGCOM_HWType it detects HW 46..

If I send a lot of images can you tell if its something else and what to use to fix it?

    Thanks!

I am unable to find the connection you say pin 34/35, I do not know which pins are those ..

Can you check this HD photo of the board and see if there is a such pins? https://imgur.com/a/pYgN1tI

Also I tried without 12v, still same issue. I tried using USBASP_write_0x46 and the 0x44 version, but nothing happens. Just shows a few cmds and it goes away...

I tried to read the cable with Progisp 1.72, but I think it requires programmer which I do not have and can't buy

If you have discord maybe we chat there?

Mine is @Mangaia if you want add me. Thank you!

    Didi you fix your cable?
You must write flash and eeprom files with correct security lock bits. This job can be done with simple avr lpt adapter for Ponyprog app. All you need is four 100kohm resistor, lpt connector and pc with lpt port. Write flash then eeprom and after that write the security bits. Flash and eeprom files version is for the 46 cable. After that install correct vcds software. All files you can find on this forum....
