Cannot connect to [03 ABS Brakes] with VCDS (Hex V2 cable clone)

Hello,

I have a Hex V2 cable (STM32F429 chip). It was shipped with VCDS 22.3.1. I used in the past on a Polo MK5 TDI 1.6 (from 2010), worked OK.

Few months ago, I had issues with the ABS (the 3 related lights show up on the dashboard).

No matter what I tried, I couldn't connect to the ABS controller (VCDS says "No Response from Controller" after 3 attempts).

I checked the fuses and updated VCDS to 24.5 (CB: 0.4643.4 FW: 0.256), still didn't work.

I concluded the ABS controller was dead and took it to a repair shop.
Turns out the ABS controller was fine, it was a wheel sensor which was faulty. The mechanic could connect to ABS controller without any issue (with a very expensive VW kit)

Today I got the 3 lights again. Im pretty sure another sensor failed. I plugged VCDS and again, I can't connect to ABS.
Auto scan works fine (except it can't connect to ABS), I can connect to engine ECU or other controllers.

It's unclear to me what wrong with VCDS or the cable. Is this a well known issue ?

Sometimes, I cannot run Auto-Scan, I got "Function not supported by the gateway".
When it happen I can still access other controllers (Eg: engine).
It seems that plugin off and restarting VCDS fix the issue.
