Lightbulb Grundig Radio in safe mode

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to recover my grundig radio in safe mode. I've been able to read eeprom data (or I think so), but I'm unable to find the code inside the dump. I've read that it can be found at address 190-0 and 190-3 and I've also read that address 00010 have the standard Grundig algotihm, but I don't know how to get the code from inside the dump.

Attached is the dump. Can somebody explain me how to read this dump (dumped with PonyProg) to obtain the code numbers. I've tryed with Hex editor with no luck.

    Best regards.

You will not get any help if you don't give any model info. What are we supposed to be looking at??

Your code is either 1441 or 1357 depending upon what the chip type is. Try both and let me know.

    Many thanks!!!!!!!!!
Correct Code is 1441. I don't know exact model for this radio, is a Grundig Radio CD for a Smart Car.

Can you explain to me how can you find code 1441 in dumped file? I've tried with hex editor, but I've found nothing. What must I do to find it? I need any special tool?

    Thank you again.

PS. Chip is 24c08 (only printed as 08 at mainboard).

Many years back the original radio to use this method was the grundig 3841. It took us quite a while to break it in the 90's. It involves xoring various values together. I won't be publishing the method on a public forum as it was hard work and only through hard work can you gain experience. Line 0010 is where the code is. :-)

Thank you alexics, I've found a tool called "GRUNDIG WKC Series Code Calculator 4.00". Is very simple to use, I only need to fill the fields in the tool with data from line 00010 and press the button "Check my Dump". I still dont'n know if the program use XOR with Hex Bytes or Ansi String, but code returned is correct code. Thank you for your help.
