I'm trying to read that same chip on 750, is it possible to read it without desoldering it?
Is that L56R exactly same than 93C56? ( so that all pins match and no short circuit appear )

Its possible, you have service points behind clock, but I take no risk so I dessolder it ad then read.

i only use service points, i have backup from this type tacho.
worst case is you lose the dump, take a backup dump, write it, problem solved.

There are 2 versions of the print inside.

what tools are people using when desoldering eeproms?
I have vacuum desoldering station but I guess thats not suitable for SMD?
I have ordered chipquick... maybe I need to just wait for it to arrive
