Default Vauxhall ECU & OPCOM Help Needed

I've just bought a Corsa SXI '05 (Z12XEP engine) with a blown ecu and a replacement ecu, trouble is I don't know whether the new ecu has been reset or not. I have a launch x431 and that seemingly is unable to program the new ecu (don't know whether this is capable even with reset ecu or not though). Was thinking of buying opcom to program but seems a grey area if the ecu has not been reset, through my searching around though there have been a few mentions of virgin ecu dumps onto an ecu to get around the need for resetting, trouble is i'm struggling to find how to do this and what is required for this to be done.
I have a mate with the full tech 2 as well, is this capable of programming unreset ecus or is it imperative that the ecu is reset and I have to buy a reset ecu.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Yours
    Bob

Ecu must be reset, tech 2 ,or opcom can read the chassis number out of new ecu,get code for it from dealer, clear it then reprogram with new code
