TMS 374 tiny sweeper

Hi. Would like to know if somebody has succeeded in removing immo on a Magnetti Marelli 1AP80 with the TMS sweeper ( bought from tek tronics). I have used it after powering the ecu & connected the reset pin on pin 22 (28F512 ) but ecu is still locked. No success on sagem SL96 ecu's too. Thanks.

bit of an old thread.

what you saw was either Patrian or Lupu_Sandu ('shame' Lupu VIP - used colour to idendify them - get confused) - he used a usb to serial converter that was a million times quicker than the serial port - took hours not years to do.

try searching 'serial' by by them both

firstly check reset pin on 27/28f512 for earth when the ecu is powered
lift the relevant pin if its grounded
also on the sweeper i built i used a 8mhz xtal as the 4mhz was not enough of a band
another thing is wait time after and during the sweeps
this is important and maybe do one or two sweeps to be sure its done the job
reset pin re soldered after its completed
i have managed one iaw 81
never tried the others or renault ones
but i have a fenix 3 here so will try that tonite and post results asap

i dont have any video equipment other than a crap usb camera for video-mail ect
ile see how it all goes and if it goes ok ile post the outcome
i usually use a ren res tool as i said before so sweeper was just to use with iaw ecus

ile give it a go and if it do or dont work ile post either way

a crap grainy image of a hairy hand, and some grunting noises is better than nothing.

If if can show the reset pin been lifted, and how to do it, please.

Remember M-H-M is WAY to busy 100% of the time to ~~~~ around.
we would rather upload stuff to other places than waste time destryoing things

Hi. Ive done some renault with sweeper, but 1 sweep its not enough. The best way to know if job is done on the bench is the MIL. Search on autodata or whatever to found MIL (malfunction indicator light) from your ecu and put a led with a resistor in serial between the MIL and +12. If the ecu is locked the MIL will blink. With ecu powered on connect the sweeper and give it a go. After job is done power of the ecu, disconect the sweeper and power on again the ecu. If the led will illuminate steady then the job was successfully, if still blink go again and connect the sweeper, until you will succeed.

I successfully remove immo with tiny sweeper on sagem SL96, I think this ECU is approximately equal to IAW 1AP,but like tehnosoftex said 1 sweep its not enough!

For mil light you can use 501 globe or g256 globe or globe1.2 to 3 watt..

just use led test probe for mil, no ~~~~ing around with resistors needed!

must admit, but against ebay rules , when get round to it, find somebody that is breaking that car, get them to cut off multiplug off ecu - not like anybody needs one!

as for lifting pin, you can SOMETIMES hammer a hole through the board away from chip and resolder later - scary this pin lifting lark!

reprogram ori file and car wil start
