Whatever seems impossible is just not yet important enough.

Sometimes it is easy to repair:

f car is 4 cilinders has inside ecu 2 transistors if car has 6 cilinders, ecu has inside 3 transistor. Locate wich transistor is defective and change it, sometimes I change some components around when transistor has burned.

I must say is common problem in VDO ecus in mercedes, but have not repaired yet a Bosch one with this problem.

For locate with transistor is, only must Know pinout of ecu and a simple multimeter will do the rest.

Hi mate, let me give you my 2 cents:
this ecu is bulletproof and rarely defective. its either the ignition coil itself, firing 2+3 or its the wiring harness.
check the entire wiring harness from ecu over intake manifold/injectors to ignition coils for rotten cable insulations.
youll find your problem right there
