Default can i use a smargo reader with a dm-500

Hi, I think i read somewhere that dm500's run sub cards too hot and was initially thinking about getting a few smargo card readers (and a few cards)but everywhere I look I can't find out if they can be used with a dm500-s,can they?
If they can be used as there is no usb port on a dm500 what would I need to connect it?
    thanks.

You need USB for smargo, is a cracking reader though.

You are best with a server for smargo, but what cards do you think run too hot in a 500?
