    Default Software to remove personal data from a PC

    Hi guys,

    I'm about to get a new desktop PC and am looking for some software that will wipe all passwords etc off my old one before i sell it.

    Any suggestions?

    I use Privacy eraser pro removes all passwords.

    Low level HDD
    Make new partitions
    New OS

    yeah if your worring about sensitive info you should wipe the drive, and reinstall, it's a pain but privacy wipes ain't gonna get rid of your info if some one knows what there doing, check out Active@ Kill Disk Hard Drive Eraser. Low Level Format.

    keep the old hard drive for your old pc then buy a new hard drive for it before selling it..

    i use cyber scrub mate you can get a cracked version on the bay or a months free trial from the website. it lets you scrub to a level that even the fbi could not retrieve.

    Format it, then fill the HD to full large and no-important files...........then nobody can recovery orig data...............

    Hi, do a low level format on your hard disk and reinstall the Operating system. This should help.

    If you want to be really quiet and secure, format hard disk and reinstall SO and some basic programs.

    Comodo do some free for personal use to clean HD I agree with other do a total wipe of system and a virgin copy of windows back on the machine otherwise your regret it, if the harddrive ends up anywhere near Nigeria :-(

    SDelete is what I used to wipe my HDD. Make sure you overwrite at least 35 passes.
