Choosing a first chiptuning programmer

Hello everyone, I have been reading this forum for some time and now I am thinking of getting into this world.


I will be doing truck and cars chiptuning but i think i should start with a slave tool first.
The trucks i am interested in are european mostly (Mercedes Actros/Atego, MAN TGX/TGS, Volvo FH,...).
As for the cars, primarily german/european cars.


What would be the best tool to do cover all these makes and models?
I was looking into kess3 and found a good price for it... not sure about flex or something else?


I would be very thankful if someone could shed some light and give me advice on what would be the best first tool.

P.S. I know there is not one tool for everything and that i will probably need to buy more than one, but looking to find one for now that will give me the most coverage.

I work with Kess3 and I do various types of vehicles, as you say it's true that the perfect tool doesn't exist but as a 360° coverage in my opinion it's among the best.

flex for me never turned a job away yet does 99 percent untill now this week stopped working but it is 6 years old nothing lasts for ever

If I am on your place.....I would buy Kess and Ktag for start and after that PCM....and it will be enough for entering into the this world.

sidenote: I got in some rabbit holes on the forums and saw that many people need CPC from MB actros cloning service, is this something i can use these programmers or should i use a general purpuse programmer like xhorse multiprog?
