    Default Dreambox experts?

    Hiya guys im new here,

I need some help with a dreambox ive had for about a year but all the channels have stopped working now? not sure what i should be asking for to tell the truth?

Ive tried to access the box via the pc using its ip address but it asks for a username and password but im unaware of this and the person who gave me the box is no longer around?

any idea how to access it without password? ive tried a ftp program but it also asks for password.

    Any help would be welcome

Not sure what FTA is but if you mean the free channels no some of them work..the odd channels work but majority have stopped working.

ok mate, i would wait for a reply from someone who is still usind a dreambox 500, i think if the guy has altered the password you can use telnet to get it sorted but its not something i have ever done.

    FTA + Free To Air.

if you're using GP image, doesnt the blue button give you any options to update your channel list, or maybe rescan the satellite to update all the transponders.

yes the blue button on your remote might help

to scan sat if i remember right its usually

menu key, then system, then service, then i think that should bring up an option to scan, but im old and i cant remember for sure.

    Hi

There is a way to bypass the password but as you say its just been over a year seems to suggest your "gift" has expired.

Might be easier to reflash and start fresh.

    Regards
