Default Honda civic 2006. Learning remote problem

    Hi guys.
I have Honda Civic 2006. This was Akl situation. I managed to program transponder. Car starts. However I am having problem to enter remote learning mode. I use xhorse remote. I tried switching ignition fast and press lock button then slow nothing.
Do I need right remote to enter this mode or doesn't matter and remote will be accepted or refused. I am not sure it has something to do with engine start button. There is a mechanical key and separate engine start button as per pic.

I hope you can enlighten me.
    Thanks

The ideal is to use oem key or good aftermarket key and remote codes with chip , it would also help you if you used the correct remote procedure to manually code remote though your timing is crucial

    1) make sure all doors are unlocked and turn ignition on
    2) press lock or unlock button on the remote once
    3) turn ignition to lock then back on again
    4) press lock or unlock button once
    5) turn ignition to lock then on again
    6) press the lock or unlock button once
    7) turn ignition to lock then back on again
    8) press the unlock or lock button on the remote once at this point if you have done this correctly the locks will cycle
    9) press the lock button on the remote locks should cycle again
    10) turn ignition off and test your remote

of course if generating a remote you need to generate the correct remote first or have the correct remote key for the job.

yes if you use correct key with pcf 7961 chip the remote does indeed code in with the transponder , but with some aftermarket and some generated keys this isnt the case and the manual procedure can often sort this out. having the correct key is a big part of the job.
so sadly you are incorrect , there is indeed a manual procedure for this year of vehicle , however if the right key is used its never required.

Not sure about European/Japan etc. version, but in NA Civic 2006 and up - remote programmed with chip, period. There's no way around it. Manual procedure don't exist, and no tool can program remote separately.
Edit: Apparently, I might be wrong (see post below). I will try next time to confirm.

its a manuale procedure but the devils in the details

You can't enter in programming mode if the first key that was programmed is chip on board 7961

So you need to clear all keys and first program separate 7936 chip and after that the car will enter in programming mode with the manual procedure

That's interesting. Manual procedure - same as other Hondas? I will try it next time.

Interesting. I had 2007 in the past and I couldn't get into remote programming mode.

Since then I have used better keys and always remote is done automatically but next time I have the chance, I will try clear the keys and try this just so I know. Thanks for the info

But at the end of the day , if the correct oem or good quality aftermarket key is used then the manual procedure is not necessary as remote will code in with the transponder, and adequate aftermarket keys are very cheap .

You need to open the door with the key and the central locking must be active.
    frequency 315 433 ?
I think the steering wheel is on the right side and it should be 315
