a4 rb4 defect after mileage adjustment

Yesterday i did the adjustment of a audi a4 rb4 D16 cluster.

with VAG PROG by obd

after the adjustment dash said DEF., mileage was succesfull.
i erased faults and the def. was out.

everything seems to be ok until we strated the car, the rev and speedometer stay at 0, it doesn't count miles and part of the dashboard illumination isn't working anymore.

now the only faultcode that is in it says: terminal 15 - implausible signal.

does anyone have any idea how to deal with this?

yes, they said put back backup, i did, same result, the dump looks fine, nothing missing whatsoever.

but my eepromadapter is broken on the vag prog (2 week old machine) so i had to put it back with x-prog, wrote, read, checked, checked, read again, checked, everthing looks fine, but it isn't

Btw, i smached my vag prog in the bin..... diga never-ever ****ed a dash up this way before.
and its not the 1st time last 2 weeks vag prog want broken or made a dash dead

First of all you must Know if the dash has correct coding, sometimes dash loose coding and shows coding 00000....this is most of functions dont work.

With a simple vag-com can check it . If coding is ok

ok, the car is not here at the moment, but say it has correct coding it's ruled out that the probelm is in the dump?

and if coding is 0000, what to do then

try resettin all adaptations with vcds
about the vag prog, why the bin, post it 2 me

about the vag prog..... i don't know i'm just done with the tool already, after 5 days from it's arrival eeprom adapter breaks down, contacted smelecom, nothing done with the problem so far, just keep asking questions about how it happened.
I don't know, took it one day for a car, adapter didnt work, don't write dump as supposed too.
Tried 5 different chip families, all the same 93c, 24c, 95c, m35080...
Now it crashed the rb4 by obd.... mailed again, i'm e-mailing awnsering questions for 4 days now and now actions taken whatsoever.

I paid good money to get the ''MIGHTY'' vag prog so i don't have to worry about this kind of shit anymore, and at LEAST expect a little service for the money.
and not asking questions about things i don't know, i cant look into the machine.
connect, select car, read, adjust, finished(broken)

there are no more options in the menu, so nothing should go wrong you should expect.


But i shall try to reset adaptions tomorrow when the car gets here.

make sure u also read the coding mate
your tool shud be under warranty mate so i'd send it for a replacement

vag prog is finished, just ordered an enigma.
I'm never-ever gonna buy something from yellow monkey country again, i'm in europe with european cars so the only one that can develop good tested equipment with support ondemand is a european country.

i also have a european diga, no problems with that one only update is old


my apology about the long-talk regarding vag-prog, i've just had it, tomorrow i'll try your advice than i'm calmed down a little.

Hello! I have same problem. I change my old VAG-DASH too a new VAG-PROG last week. I try too change milage in a A4 RB4 this weekend and i have same problem like you. I do everyting right and save dump, and VAG_Prog say sucsessful and the palameter go too 100% before. The new milage stand but over this in the trip numbers DEF. I have mail smelecoms and they have no answer yet. I shure someting it?s wrong whit program for RB4. Talk too them, you too.
We most have right too help too fix it from them. I have no problem whit the old VAG-PROG everyting have go for me.

If you can fix this problem please tell me. I will do the same for you.

you should kick up a right stink after all its not cheap for this equipment ..best using diga for rb4 dash clusters as i have done loads and never had a problem ...and also beware doing nec dashs as ive heard of problems with screen blanking after service mode ....

codings are OK but dump is corrupt 100%
try dialab, codecard, etc
or try to search google "audi RB4 repair"

What year is your cluster? Have you got any part number for him?

no problem, download attachment, there are 2 pictures from the cluster stickers in it with all info you asked.

adaptions and codings where ok.

does your eeprom adapter work properly?
when i take an black eeprom, nomather wich family, i programm a file, and read it again the whole dump is messed-up.

i'm mailing with smelecom.
They asked the dump, they say dump is ok.

No solution yet, i'm still waiting for an decent compromis on this one, thisw is very not nice at the moment.
