All the display is showing is the word "SAFE".

Thanks for the tip on code entering mode.
However, it still doesn't work - the word SAFE remains in the display no matter how long I hold AS for.
Any ideas?

Have you made sure your ignition is on, before holding AS button then pressing power button?

When radio shows 'SAFE' what is the number preceeding this?
eg 10 SAFE, 9 SAFE, 8 SAFE.
If it is less than 10 you will need to leave radio powered on, with ignition key on - until it resets - allowing another code entry.

The code cant have the number 8 because the radio has keyboard only up to the number 6.

Mate .... your code is correct .... and can even be........9999.(example only)...........just push the corresponding preset the required number of times ..... when you get to the number required ..... STOP and move to the next one ...............
