Mercedes A-class air-mass (airfow) sensor
Thats a link to codecard repair kit for you never done one. If you do go down this route let me know how you get on m8
Hi, I'm having the same issue at the moment. Does any one know of any alternative supplier? also, some places mention a pot being installed as a part of the repair. Is this for calibrating correct readings because the new element isnt as precise?
I had this problem about two months ago on my W reg A class, the MAFS is built into the ECU, the only car in Mercedes range that does this!, and is unique to your car only, i.e you cant just get a MAFS from a breaker, same year, engine size etc and transfer it it wont work. You can either buy a new unit from Mercedes with 12 month warrenty for ?1,300, I rang round loads of auto electricans to see if any one could recondition my unit and was recomended Auto Tec in Kent, it cost me ?500 with a 3 month warrenty, my initial first reaction was to insurance job it but i had already invested so much money into the bast (better the devil you know). Anyway check you haven't a fauly throttle body first, (around ?50 from scrappers) before you pay out. My symptoms were that the car wouldnt rev over 4k in any gear and had sluggish acceleration low down in revs. Hope this helps.
I'm actually doing this for a customer. Trying to get some info on the calibration to see whether to tackle this myself or to ship it to an ECU repair place.
Hi guys.
If you have doubts about if the problem is the MAF sensor, you must open the ECU and take it out.
This car assumes referencie values with it out and the car runs well.
So, the better test you can do is take it out, it is welded in the ECU board.
Desolder it and run the car without it, the car must run well without problems.
If you want to buy the ceramic to repair the old MAF here in Portugal exists a company selling it.
Sensor massa de ar Mercedes Classe A (conjunto Parelhado) Sensor Rh + Sensor Rt - InfoTronic - Loja Online - componentes para electronica automovel
First of all do the test I explained to you, after checked the problem really is the MAF see in this company if they have for your ECU.
You ask to speack with Rui and tell him you are Nuno?s friend, maybe the price can be better.
Regards,
Nuno

i have had several merc A class with maf problems, symtoms being hard to start and no acceleration, without pumping throttle from cold. not as bad when warm, big flat spots etc all the usual issues.
i am not suggesting anyone else has to do this but what i did was also like the last poster i broke the little glass element from the air flow meter assembly and the car ran in default values with excellent response, starting acceleration and normal fuel economy customers were delighted and everyone happy so i never replaced ecu since i tried this.
like i said it worked for me but i take chances when ive nothing left to lose![]()
Hi
Have a look in this link see if you can repair it your self there are two small wires that brakes on Airmass Sensor I have repaired it before and the car was running fine beside the Engine light not go off as the fault was still there because could not know the right resistance to usebut the customer was happy as long as the car was driving fine.
You can try your luck as well.......

i have had a couple of a class with airflow faults. what codes do you have? send it to bba-reman they give 12 months and they fit a pot so you can adjust air and fuel ratio.
Hello
Possible to have a picture of two Sensor massa on the ECU?
I received an ECU without the two Sensors
I do not know the meaning that it must be implemented
thank you very much
