The code was from the dump direct, I suggest you have another problem.
Are you trying to power it on the bench?

    This is your problem....

you need to use 3 +12v (Safe) or just put it in the car....

I have powered the unit like so:
    • +12v to pins 15 and 16
    • GND to pin 12

The code 1778 was entered in this configuration.

Right now it's displaying SAFE 2, so I let it powered for a while.

Which one is the SAFE pin ? What is the correct way to power the unit on the bench?

And as a side-note, the same code I got also, but with a Blaupunkt decoder. The unit seems to be made by Grundig.

As long as the serial number etched into the chassis starts vwz2z then it will definitely be a Grundig set with 24c32 eep

The Blaupunkt file that has previously been written to it has even had the serial number deleted from it

Ok, it seems that I started this confusion.

I have this unit form a scrapyard. It has no label on it, only info is the engraved serial. I have supposed, based on some clues, that is made by Grundig.

If the dump is from Blaupunkt, and if it works fine with it, then it is a Blaupunkt.

I post some pictures with the unit.

So, for sure the dump was not changed. If the code is ok, the the only thing I need to know is the correct way to power it on the bench.

OK, then this is your problem... your radio is a Grundig and your dump is from a Blaupunkt.
    You'll need to change this..

    wbr

(Use dump from post #22 with code 0202)

I have changed the dump with the one from post 22, and as you anticipated it works fine.

    Problem solved.
