Default love the linux based boxes - which one should I get?

    Hi guys,

I managed to get my hands on a dreambox today for a couple of hours, and absolutley loved it (i'm a long term unix user & love the command line - yes its sad, i know).

Anyhow I'm definitely going to purchase a linux based box, is there one that offers greater functionality or community support?

All depends on what you want to pay and what you want it to do, you get a basic model or one with hdd so I guess it all depends what your preference is.

i'm willing to spend upto ?200. I like to get my hands dirty & a HDD option sounds awesome. The more features the better, even if half of them are not used.

what kind of functionality can I get with a linux box with HDD? Can you pause live tv & get tivo like features? I've tried researching a few boxes, but am a bit confused with the various models.

    many thanks.

DM 600 PVR can be had for 200 quid

no hard drive but all you need a 2.5" laptop size IDE hard drive (about 60 quid for 100 MB one)

I have DM 500C and been very happy with it.
