whether it was to fix your own car (you save money)
whether you fix customers car (you make money)

if not donate, they should HELP in the forum rather than just TAKING

hmmmm, yes your right no you aint, as with a lot of other dk members we came here for a fix for our cable boxes ( slightly off topic i know ) so yeh we saved money with not paying to virgin, but now thats over we dont get save ~~~~ all, ( in fact its costing us more ) we keep coming here to keep in touch with our mates and get advice on anything we are unsure about, help out as and when we can, and not forgetting the main reason, because DK is the best site on the net

With all due respect, I find it extremely hard to believe that statement. A quick google query for 'ECU Commander' will show that you're running a business off dumps, turning off airbag lights, immo-off....etc. Unless all the software you're using is your own, and you're never on DK or any other forum asking questions and getting help (which isn't the case according to Google too, many nice questions getting answered to many cars, hard to believe they're all yours?). Even if you own all these Euro brands, and they're all your cars, you're still saving money.



Now back to the original topic. What type of "work" that's "yours" and is being hunted? Have you written any programs and offered it for free and found others selling it? Have you reverse engineered any piece of code or discovered a way to circumvent certain limitations to make software useful and declared it on DK or other forums and found others selling it off ebay?

Or are you just like most of the so called pros, an old internet seeker with plenty of hard disk space full of progz written by real pros or written by OEM and reversed by real pros? And some saved forum pages with answers to tough problems that you've faced and got real valid answers that helped you fix clients' cars?

I don't see how you would differ from that reda75 guy (the example you showed us) who asks for help on DK, and you launch a program (that you've got from DK or any other forum) and you help the guy.
So what if the guy goes to his other forum, pretends to be Superman and posts the solution without mentioning DK or giving credit to you.
You're doing the same, (unless you discovered the fix or actually wrote the GUI that fixed his dump with a mouse click).
The way I see it, you were also playing Superman by not giving credit to the piece of software or solution that you've got off a forum, or Google, or PM'ing someone.

It's not like your reply was: here I have this XYZ_v1.34 that you just load a dump, click on foo-bar and you get your fix. Instead the usual reply is: Post dump here, or PM me...etc.
In other words, giving the guy a fish instead of handing over a fishing rod (not spoon feeding, just guide the fella to the drawer where the spoons are). Helping without really helping. Or an older fisherman helping a fellow n00b fisherman.
Or bashing newbies and sucking up to gurus...etc. Human nature is complicated.

And finally, from your nice .com website, seems like you have quite a bunch of tools. Which means you know how to send money all the way to China or wherever your tools are from. Yet when it comes to supporting this forum, Paypal becomes the obstacle?

No offense to you or anybody...my point is that everybody should just look with an honest eye at himself and try to improve instead of pointing fingers at others. The true problem isn't simple.
As for the Mods...may the Lord be with you, tiz a tough one!

Believe it or not this is your problem. As for me i know what really am i and i know what i'm doing.

I'm not also in a situation to list what i have discovered, what toold i've developed, But i can tell you that i have a hand on almost every algorithm used on the modern controllers.

All i can say is that, i really know how to run my business. My efforts, information in hands and tools are not for sale and not for sharing, they are all mine, built with my own efforts.

I don't need witnesses to approve what i said.

And all the respect goes to you

P.S if one day you have a trouble with something i can help you with, and no one offered help to you, i will gladly help you.
