    Default astra 2001 1.4 petrol

Hi im having some trouble and any help would be much appreciated,

This car was a first time starter untill yesterday morning,
I eventually got it started and drove for about 4 miles
then it died, without warning, not even any caughing or spluttering.
I had it towed to a local garage who have done a diagnostic

Test result is coil fault cylinder 1 2 3 and 4
but is not the coil pack.
He has also checked fuel injectors and they are ok.

Advice was to have an auto electricion take a look.

Funds are a bit low atm if anyone has any thaughts about what could be wrong could you let me know.

    thanks

    Wink

My money is on the ecu, these ecus seem to break down the earth pulse to the coil pack.

with coil pack unplugged the earth pulse is there but not with coil pack plugged in.

I would fit new coil pack and ecu, after a little more testing.

As it could be the coil pack whats damaged the ecu?

    Hi

Astra's of this year normally do have a common problems of losing its Earth for Fuel pump Relay from Engine ECU when it warms up temperature.

And therefore you should have a fuel pump relay fault code.

What tool are you using to Diagnose it ?

Also have you tried starting it when its cold.

    Ash

    Thanks Ash
