    Talking xsara picasso overheat but not problem

    Hi i have a citroen xsara picasso 2000 1.8 it has started showing overheating even when cold its an intermittent fault and reading on here it appears to be a common fault what is the sensor at fault is it the one on the radiator or is there another??

    There shouldnt be a sensor in the radiator, it should be the green sensor in the thermostat housing.

    Hi looking down on the radiator there is something on the side with wires going to it i assumed this was it ?????

    Probably switch for the cooling fans.
    Besides the sensor, it could also be the wiring to the coolant temperature sensor or a fault in the instrument panel.

    Do a diagnostics on engine ecu, any fault codes to do with temp sensor or cooling fans will do this on the dash to signalise there is a fault on the cooling system m8.
    You need every tool in the book, to do this auto locksmith job.

    some cars have it on radiator, and some on cylinder head its probably a green connector with 3 wires.....

    or even 4 wires........you can test it by disconecting the connector if you do that while engine is idleing the fans should start, at full speed.......

    hi checked this it was on the block green only 2 wires disconnected it and fan came on full so replaced it and touch wood seems ok ta

    Thats the speed control resistors.
