Drive vehical WOT and do not let off. Does trans shift out of 1st gear?
Ok DK, MY MOMS 2000 E320 NON 4-MATIC PROD DATE 11/99 W/ SIEMENS EGS1 PART#024545832, IS NOT SHIFTING.
SO FIRST I CHANGED THE FILTER AND FLUID.NO LUCK THERE, THEN THE CONDUCTOR PLATE AND ELECTRONIC PLUG(OIL WAS IN THE PLUG). STILL NO LUCK, WHEN SCANNED THROUGH OBD2 PORT I GOT P0748 INPUT TURBINE SPEED SENSOR. COULD NOT COMMUNICATE THROUGH 38 PIN. SO THEN I UNPLUGGED THE CONNECTOR 4 THE ELECTRONIC GEAR SELECTOR AND GOT COMM THROUGH 38 PIN CONNECTOR. I REPLACED GEAR SELECTOR AND NOW HAVE COMMUNICATION. THAT TOOK CARE OF ONE PROB, THE TRANS STILL DOESN'T SHIFT. VEHICLE WAS SCANNED AGAIN AFTER TEST DRIVE AND I GOT TWO CODES 4 PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE SOLENOID CIRCUIT, I WENT AND BOUGHT THE 2 PRESS REG SOLENOIDS AND REPLACED THEM. STILL NO LUCK, (SAME PRES REG CODES RETURNED)THEN I DID A CONTINUITY TEST FROM EGS TO ROUND PLUG ON TRANS, EVERYTHING WAS OK TESTED ALSO 4 POWER GOT 12V,CHECKED GROUND WAS GOOD. tHEN I PULLED OFF THE GROUND STRAP OF THE TRANS AND CLEANED ALL OF THE CONTACT POINTS. sTILL NO LUCK.TODAY I TOOK APART THE VALVE BODY 2 SEE IF ANY SPRINGS WERE BROKEN FOUND NOTHING ALL THE VALVES MOVE FREELY.cHECKED THE PLASTIC AND STEEL CHECK VALVES, FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE A BUDDY AT THE DEALER AND HE SAID THE ONLY THING LEFT TO CHANGE IS THE EGS.THIS IS A US MODEL AND ALL PARTS WERE GENUINE EVEN THE FLUID.THE THING THAT ALSO HAS ME STUMPED IS IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER YOU CANNOT SELECT D1,D2,OR D3, WHICH HAS ME CONVINCED ITS AN ELECTRONIC PROB.
MY QUESTION NOW IS CAN THE EGS1 BE FLASHED ON THIS UNIT? AND IF SO HOW DO i DO IT?

At WOT it wont shift its stuck in limp mode even when you clear me2,egs,and istrument cluster.As soon as you start the vehicle the check engine light comes right back on.
Vehical Has HARD FAULT must repair 1st. What fault code are you getting? PM
The codes are: P0748 Pressure Control Solenoid Electrical
P0745 Pressure Control Solenoid Malfunction
Check wiring and repair as necessary. Check power and ground at connector. Possible corroded connector. If unshure about components check service manual.
did you check the internal wiring. To me sounds like the trans computer has a problem. Check the wiring going to the gear selector. I have seen wires shorted together you could of disturbed them when you unpluged them
when u say internal wiring are u talking about the egs internals?
I will be sure to double check the wiring to the gear selector.
Follow trouble codes 1st - check wiring to solenoids!
P0748 check component Y36/Y1 and Y2
DO you have wiring info for proper troubleshooting?
NO I DO NOT
For wiring you may try starfinder v3. GOOD LUCK
Check also the EGS ECU, usualy is full with gear oil.

I DID CHECK THIS BEFORE EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT MENTION IT, I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM B4.
