    Default Passat 2007 dashboard change

Hello maybe can give me some advise.
A friend of my has buy a import usa vw passat 2007.
Now everything is in mileage and it should be km. Now he will buy a new dash.
The Vw dealer ask a lot of it to let it work.
I will help him, but I don`t know that i can.
I think i opened his usa dash and read the eeprom, and write the dump into the new dash.
But i`m not sure that this is the only thing I have to do.
Can someone give me a advise before i`m starting something stupid...

Do not write the eeprom to the other dash. It will not work and show error.
You can adjust km with rosfar or via OBD with any tool that can handle VW dashs after 2006.
    Change coding with VCDS/Vagcom.

The car will start. Passat B7 doesent have the immo in dash. For swapping the dash is a matter of adaptation with car. VIN , coding and others.

Does that mean, that when you changed the cluster, the car is starting, and you only have to changed the mileage by obd and that is all ???

But why do you want to change the dash? Original can be coded for all you want to see on it.

He want a original eu dash.
He and me, don`t know how we can change that.
I have no idea how it can be changed from miles/h into km/u.

He wants to change the dash because of the scales. that cannot be done by coding

So normal EU dash will work out of the box with the car. Just do the coding for service intervall and things like belt warning, wisher fluid, brake indicator and so on.

No VIN is stored in this dash.

For changing the coding you don't need to login.
There is a generic login code for adapting the KM via adaption channel 9 if km is below 100km.
    It is 13861
