    Default any way to stop my internet from being capped of speed?

    any way of doing this.
    please help, my download speed is slow at times.

    downloads full speed for like 10min on 10meg virgin media.

    Your download speed is probably slow for one of three reasons:

    1/ the source is slow
    2/ Your ISP's network is clogged at peak times
    3/ Your ISP is throttling certain types of traffic deliberately

    1/ you can't do anything about, and I think the only way toi get round 2/ and 3/ is to change ISP.

    Some don't throttle, mine Be don't for instance. But I suspect they all have capacity issues at peak times.

    if you are downloading torrents make sure your modem allows you to access the site i.e "utorrent"
    also allow your firewall to access "utorrent"
    i found that this improved it,although as previous guy said they all seem to throttle from about 15.00 hrs till midnight.
