Episode 1: The old boss want that you have a look to the car of an old dude.
It's a Focus I serie, the turtle say "dash not working"
Obviously everything is working but in the display of the partial mileage there is 505.8
It's because the 5 in this type of display looks like an S so the entire number is like SOS.8
So the turtle might catch fear for that message.
But you don't tell this to the turtle to not increase the fear he have to his car
and to not show him he could look as a turd rather than a turtle.

Episode 2: a new Van with high mileage, you have already done radiators on the same model with no probs.
This one need 1 radiator, then comes out it need fan, then comes out it need resistor of fan,
then comes out it need the other radiator, then comes out it need relay for glow plug.
When the van is ready, took 3 days to have all the parts because every faulty parts
have been discovered singularly, and one rad arrived as wrong part.
So when everything is on and you have checked expecially the coolant pipes to the rad,
because it have silly fast attach, the van has been tested a couple of minutes in street,
everything is ok, NO SINGLE DROP ON THE FLOOR, coolant level ok, deliver the van, is of an IMPORTANT customer, he drove it for 200 kilometers then in highway one rad fast attach slip off and lost all the coolant.

All this because I didn't push enough the silly fast attach and did not PULL enough to test if it was latched to the rad.
All this because I was the only one working in the van, all the other were already home.
All this because the van has not been tested enough before delivery.

Due to Dk anti advertising rules this story has had to be edited, but otherwise correct.

Customer brings in a Chinook, slight wobble on the prop shaft, just pumped it full
of grease and sent it on its way.

The pilot says “there a button on the dashboard for the rear machine gun”, no point in it being there, can you fit front fog lights and use that switch.

yeah, sure, next week. Next week comes, you fit the front fog lights,
all week you being thinking of why is that switch on the dashboard?

Then whilst your inbed the other night, no its been put there by the manufacturer
so if rear gunner goes to the toilet or for cigarette break, pilot can still fire rear gun.

However you don’t like the bloke, do you

    a) point out, leave it, fit fog light switch in blank next to it?
    b) do as they ask?

I chosen on this one, to do as they ask, then when rear gunner goes to
they will hopefully one day realise that the switch was there for a reason! At which time there going to be more than 1000 miles from home, har har.

Ssangyong Rexton RJ hard to start

Rexton 7/2005 really hard to start both cold and hot,
engine code 665 925, 5 zylinders 2696 cc 121 kW, has Merc-a-dies logo somewhere in engine bay.

Customer is crying for help but the engine need everything plus he arrived with flat battery and empty fuel.
Changed starter because he damaged the old but he also need 5 glow plug and only 2 has been changed sucessfully.

Now it needs: high pressure pump, low pressure pump, head removal for glow plug, has 250000km,
all filters, all tyres, bonnet pistons, new battery, and maybe it's low on compression??

Also it's 4WD and it cry why it has transmission light ON in dash. When I went down to change the starter guess what...
Never seen in any 4WD: missing front to rear shaft so it's 2WD and customer cry for dash light?!

Told him to go to scrapyard and park it forever and buy a small affordable car, nothing intelligent to spend continuosly
money on a low quality high mileage 2700cc dirty diesel engine imitation of a suv.
BTW it start immediately with easy start.
Told him never run with low fuel with any car.

    What will you do?

So if runs on easy start pump is working, if not working when hot
either block fuel filter or low compression.

    agree, scrap it

three hours to swap, Your strip it, then customer says stop, will do himself

    1) piece of plastic trim, utter pig to remove and MUST do it in correctly Or scratches
The radio. You removed it, no need to refit, customer can do it, takes seconds But to remove
    MUST be done correctly

    a) do you clip it in?
    b) let customer clip it in?

    2) when in situ no problem, to remove motor you have tip it
    Do you

    A) leave as is
    Or
    B) squirt some hydrlic oil in it?

    3) BONUS QUESTION

The radio is out, customer refitting, do you

    A) leave as is?
    B) drop a coin in it and leave upside down?

    b) and c) if you clarify "cc".
    Didn't he need:
oil top up, coolant top up, windshield fluid, wipers, lamps, tyres, brake pad and any other things that only for him will be 10x normal price?

Boss told to a 30yo guy to buy a new van for his activity, cause old van drink oil and need other.
That guy bought the new van and 1 month later LOW OIL.
    Top up. Every 2 months.
Since first service come and voilà no more oil top up needed.
    But.
Display write: 310 km No Start possibility due to DPF.
You run a scan, there are 19 DTC but all are old and not so relevant with DPF.
Also that guy top up Adblue.
You reset DTC and the display write: 310 km No Start possibility due to DPF.
You run a scan, no fault.
Display write: 310 km No Start possibility due to DPF.

All the glory to new van.
    What would you do?

    Choose one of these

”ABBA”, “Brain Addams”, “ Britney Spears“, “ Manfred Mann”

Customer comes to collect their car. It’s winters. Windows are frozen over
it is VERY close to home time, you can’t be bothered to get any de-icer.

Do you rev the nuts off this car and hope customer don’t hear it who is paying the bill.

    Or

Grab a CD out of door pocket and start scraping the ice off?

when customer comes out and says thanks, do you say, thank <name from above > or other?

    Thanks

Boss tested personally 1 car, happens only 1 on 1000 cars, he tested for many miles too, gave the car to the customer,
8 hours later that car works only in REVERSE.
Done nothing to trasmission and whatever.
The car is 100 meter before tooking the highway so no possibility to tow.
    Do you think:
    - Boss have had fun and told nothing to us
    - Car was already pish and went forever
    - The owner broke something else over the previous existing defective.
