This looks pretty much like my own multiplexer. Not the best quality I'm afraid, this cannot be used with 24 volts. I have used mine for over a year now and its worked just like it should have been, but only with cars. It cost just under 600 dollars. There are better ones available though...
Don't forget to thank when someone helps you!

The mux is not original but this is how a good one should look like. I'm not saying your tool would be crap, I just don't know how good it is but it is made with one of the Chinese home made circuit board copies.
It is so funny when I've asked a quote from most of the Chines sellers who attend this forum and everybody is selling the best quality and everybody knowns others are selling crap. When I insist on details, they consider me funny and claim I don't know enough about these (in any case not a good approach to convince a buyer).
I have such a device long enough, also worked on personal and commercial vehicles and must say that I am satisfied. The largest number of devices bought from AUTOKMFACTORY.Best regard.
Here are 3 pictures of clone multipelxer. you could have a look. Hope it be useful for you all.
I got 5 multiplexer in workshop, there is 1 cannot connect DAS or Xentry after 03/2010. There are 2 able to connect DAS 07/2010 but not Xentry 07/2010. And the remain 2 are prefect on DAS and Xentry. All Multiplexer are same outlook, but I am not sure what is the different inside it. I really hope all multiplexer can use 07/2010 DAS and Xentry.
The mux from pictures, will not work long time with 24 V
The RS232 to RS485 converter often exists as fake, empty box. I've seen cables that were obviously built for the "C4" multiplexer that has D-type connectors and they add a short converter cable that makes this RS232 cable fit to the cheap C3 clone that has the round connector but no RS485 interface.
Yes, there is
In this case if I open the empty box I will find cable-to-cable connections without RS-485 interface because you say the mux clone works with rs232 protocol and a round connector which have the same cables than DB-9 connector... Is it correct?
I will open it if you confirm this point.
Many thanks
BR
This would be the case but you should see the difference if you have a look inside the multiplexer too.
The dummy "converters" are often fastened to be difficult to open, not using standard screws. Obviously only to prevent buyers figure out what they got (the same with the mux, screws are likely sealed with warranty labels for the same reason).
