    Default ethernet flashing issue..help please!

    guys.

ok, i flashed my own 500c the other day without a problem, im attempting to do the same with my mates, thing is, when im using the ethernet crossover cable from my dreambox, when its plugged into the laptop, the ethernet socket lights up on the laptop, it connects to flash fxp no problem. With his box, when its connected there is no light coming on the laptop ethernet socket is this a common problem? it seems as though the ethernet from his 500c isnt on or working. can anyone help? as i cant connect it to flash fxp. When his box went down in april i flashed it fine, but now cannot.. any help would as usual be much appreciated.

Have you checked the ip address of your box and dreambox to make sure they are in the same subnet. Much easier and safer flashing the dm500 with a null modem cable.

hi there, i only have a crossover cable, and i did exactly the same process as i did with doing my own box, It seems like the ethernet port on his dreambox is dead.
