restore Bosch EDC15C7 ECU

Hi guys,

I have a question, the previous owner of my Alfa 156 has messed with the ECU and now i'm facing the consequences.

How can I restore the original software to my ECU?
The "Stealer" says I need a whole new unit, for that I have to pay 1500 euro's (about 2000 dollars).

I saw a lot of topics about rewriting the ECU, is someone able to chew it all out for me? (Normally I would take the time to figure it out myself but I'm in quite a hurry; Really need my car to drive because of my upcomming holiday!...

Best way is maybe to go to a SERIOUS CHIP TUNER, and pay him the money he wants - is for sure cheaper than buying a new one or risk damage!!!
And you won't have problems afterwards!!

a serious tuner (only one here) asks 500 euro's for chiptuning (all he does). I don't want a chiptuned (read custom mapped) car, I want the standard software..

Well never mind.. think it is impossible to reset the ECU anyways.
Not without a huge change of failing the whole unit..

its very easy to restore th ecu. i do it on dayly basis
a lot of older cars are failling deu to a stupid chiptuning.
the edc 15 is very easy to manipulate.

The solution is very simple you can buy on ebay a galletto serial programmer for 50 euro and restore original file on your alfa....whith your ecu edc15c7 the clone working very well

I have a galetto, can someone explain it to me?
I downloaded my ECU, I didn't gave the file an extention (ie .bin or .ecu of what should it be?)

Now when I open it I see a lot of HEX codes and have NO clue on what to do with it?!?!

How can I simply see what is modified and if that can be the cause of my problems?

My MAF is acting strange while all hardware is 100% okay; only possible sollution is within the ECU..

Please help me.

thnx but this is the 16v, I have a 8v.

Is someone able to download my mapping (link below) and check wether there is tempered with the settings??

I have the original file from a database now and added it to the download:
I verified the HW numbers and software numbers; 1 file is newer, the other is the same version.
p.s. "1e reading onaangepast" = first readout of my own ECU, unmodified (onaangepast = dutch)

I have uploaded 2 genuine maps to compare; see above posts.
If you could explane it to me what is what in hex codes and how to compare it I will worry about genuine maps etc.

If I open WinOLS it says it's 91% the same; that's an awfull big difference for only immo or not?

So again; who can compare the maps with eachother and tell me what has been modified?
