Lightbulb Worst of-ever welded or grinded on brake pads??

Found these pads "fitted" to a 1200ccm Suzuki Bandit, front breaks.
As there were no original pads available or they were to expensive, someone made his own, first grinding pads to a suitable size and then welding some guides on. Theese upgraded pads were originally thoughed to be used in a 150ccm chinese scooter.

anybody got similar goodies? Please share!!

Well, here in Mexico we do have some fierce mecanics and drivers. Some things I remember(and there are tons) :

1- Brake drum of a beetle cut in2 2 pieces due to the ribbets of the weared brakelining grinding its way to liberty

2- broken steering coloumn welded and rebroken due to 95% frozen steering gearbox.

3- Ranger pick-up with spring leaf looking thru the bed. Owner didn't mind when spring cam off its rotten chassis bracket and still was supported by bed's floor for a while.

have you ever had a customer walking in with a broken brake pipe wanting you to weld it?
