pt cruiser 2 ltr non turbo will not idle, it will only idle with an air leak.revs up fine though any ideas any 1

what sort of idle speed contol valve does it have ? Try cleaning the throttle body with carb cleaner

ive put a new idle speed control valve on it and cleaner the throttle body with carb cleaner

Any codes? Signal voltage and reference voltage present? What are the live data readings for IAC?

no codes everything looks ok on live data

How about voltage supply to control valve? Did you calibrate the new valve?

I had similar situation.
Spark plugs had big gap, i replace them and spark plug cables too.
Some interference i believe, cosed by bigger voltage.

il give tht a bash tomrow its just has head gasket somewhere else and brought here because it wont idle...

1) Second about the spark plugs and HT leads - seems to ring a bell
2) Head gasket - Is there any Helmons Mayonase in the cranck cas breather pipes.

*THINK* it is some vauxhall in the air filter box is a piece of 'brilo pad' remove this and use to polish somebody's car you don't like.
