Default Update from 02-2009 to 07-2010 DAS

    Hi,
I am attempting to upgrade to 07-2010 DAS only. If I start the update I always get a "no authorization" error and when I ignore it it deletes the existing DAS 02-2009 and fails eventually with some errors and I have the revert to a disc image. Back when I used to maintain DAS machines there was a question box asking if one wants to update DAS and Xentry and would let you select either one. Is this not an option any longer? What does the pros here suggest - upgrade or complete reinstall?

    Thanks

I'm not a pro at all but why not use the tools from the forum for a clean install.

The fact that you have an old setup but still get the "no authorisation" message sounds a bit odd though. Is your licence valid for the installation date for 07/2010? Are you running the update with current date for the PC?

    Thanks DB_member for answering.
I am leaning to retain the current installation since there are many other usefull tools installed. I am not sure what tools to use exactly either. The install I have was done with JC's guide. The tools you are referring to a similar? Soory for trying to get spoon fed - I just like to spend my time working on the vehicles rather than dredge forums and reformat on end.

So a small roadmap would be great.

    Thanks again.

P.S. I tried with different dates and the hangup is with xentry which was installed with JC's help where the date is manipulated to something in early 2008. (From what I gathered - again no expert or hacker)

Well, I took the time to look around and found all the nice guides and tools it took to upgrade DAS and Xentry. Thank you Zolookas and other contributing Members.
The upgrade did not go without problems though. First few attempts rendered the Multiplexer inaccessible and after the fifth attempt I got it to work but another issue I can' shake.
All the applets in the Star utilities diagnosis tab are inoperable and produce an error 76 when selecting any test.
Has anyone experienced and solved this?

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
Sounds like you still have some odd installation issues. For the first rounds, did you apply appropriate DAS fixes and were still not able to access the mux?

Did you try the temporary Star Utilities folder, is it any better?
