I tried again today same result ... what does the checksum button do? The problem is that BDM doesn't store any read file
I try to read peugeot 407 2.0hdi sid803 with BDM100 (cmd style). I connected everything as written in manual and I try to read. BDM reads to 100% and then say:
Checksum error Code1.
Failed
It's the first time I use BDM100 so it might be something really simple. I tried to read using (read single file, read 29bl802c or read MPC555/6) always same result about checksum.
I tried again today same result ... what does the checksum button do? The problem is that BDM doesn't store any read file

I will probably try to read same ecu (sid803) with bdm in next few days, will report. Did you connect outside power supply (12v + gnd) directly to ecu pins?

Yes I did connected external power supply directly to ECU pins, and BDM100 is connected only to USB. I had a different ideea yesterday ... to try with DIMSPORT soft but didn't try it yet as I have no time.
i read last week SID 803 with cloned bdm without problem. The car was 307 136hp.
Your car have sid803 or 803A?
car is peugeot 407 136hp so same engine as yours. Can you please upload and PM me link to your version of BDM sw? Can you also describe in more details the procedure? How did you actually connected to the ECU, did you read single file or content of mpc555/6, and how did you calculated checksum?
flash is identified as 29bl802c
Later edit:
I finally managed to read the ECU using 555pro. but now I have no possibility to calculate the checksum of moded file.

Do you really need a checksum? if you try to dpf off trough ecusafe should be ok (chk is calculated...). Tomorrow I'll try to read with same software (1255). We'll see how that goes.

I did the checksum via ECM6.2 eventually and everything seems to be ok. I will test the ECU in the car in a few days.
i think the bdm does the cks while wrinting, the clone one has this module...
END OF STORY: happy ending
The story is like this:
1. Opened ECU
2. Connected BDM after checking the exact pinout of SIEMENS PROBE.
3. Tried to read with CMD1255 SW but it failed (checksum error)
4. Read OK with DIMSport SW but does not support checksum function
5. Modded file and calculated checksum via ECM6.2
6. Write file in ECU with DIMSport sw with no problem
7. Removed cables and closed ECU
Next few days I will try the ecu in the car.
Great!
I also managed to read (tryed with both 555 and 1255), then dpf off with ecusafe (no chksums btw) then repaired chksum with ecm 6.3 (to Rappttor - I overlooked the option in 1255 software ) and wrote it back. Car finaly running normal and without dtcs.
To bazare, had no problems with soft so if you need it, please contact me.
Btw: does somebody have schematics for other connectors (I have siemens, delphi and marelli but there is at least one more for siemens...), I could make printable pcbs for others...

the probes provided with clone bdm are ok but for simens ecu if you go to cmd site you will see that there 2 more.
i have on my table a simens sid301, and i cannot read it as bazare did, the plug pinout is ok, but the pad arrangement is not, also for simens ppd. so if someone has tis type of probes will be much apreciate if it will help...
psrinted pcb i can make too, that's not a problem, and i can describe the procedure here, it's not so hard.

to bazare: you checked the pinout f the simens probe and made the conections with wires in that manner?
yeah ... I first checked the connections and put them directly. More connections = greater chance of failure.
Unfortunately I only have 1 type of siemens probe and it would be great if someone who has more can provide the pinouts or at least good quality photos.
