Default FORD IDS WORKING ON WINDOWS 7

anyone who read my thread about failing to connect to transits will know i have had probs with ids
    http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...roblem-167149/

i decided to try it on windows 7 ultimate and it installed fine..run fine..and cable drivers installed fine so i went out to try on a mondeo i have and all functions seem to work ok. i will be trying it on a transit tomorrow to see if it overcomes my probs. if not it would still be fair to assume if you have windows 7 ultimate you can run ids on it and the problems i am having are mine alone. anyone trying it please post result for others. also i have not tried win 7 NON ULTIMATE so maybe it is only ultimate that will work. i also DIDN'T need to choose xp in compatability mode, regards steve

thanks the thread was just to refer to ford ids dealer software. just an update on a 2000 2.0 i was able to connect manually choosing 2.4...and on a 55 plate new shape (square headlight) it connected automatically and worked well. so my problem seems to be on 2001-2004. can anyone suggest a reason or are these years different protocol or pins on dlc??? thanks steve

It may be a coincidence but I have noticed that e-TIS requires a PCM calibration update on the early Transit vans in order to carry out speed limiter setting etc or maybe your transit is acting up
