Default Opel CD30, CD30MP3 Grundig decode guide

Having spent quite a few hours messing with tech2 and UPA USB I thought I would go through all the spare radios I had work out how the code was stored.

I've done all of vauxhall's CDxx range and all Astra Mk5 displays, some you can read the code from the ASCII, the rest use the same principal as the one below, although different offsets and different values.

As the fun in this is learning something new, I don't intend to release them all, just to see someone else take them and sell them on.

This is how the Grundig CD30 & CD30MP3 are security coded.

All you need to do is make a dump of the 24C32 eeprom and look at the offsets shown below. Then in the table look up each digit individually until you have all four.

I will give people the code for the other radios and displays if they post a dump though, although I know others on here do that already.

I've attached a coded dump on here if anyone wants to have a go at working out the code.

The code doesn't seem to be in the usual place, I need my other PC to be able to tell you, should be tomorrow if no-one has before then

Took me just under an hour, sorry if you are annoyed if I have published it, I figured I've been helped by this forum so I'd give a little back. This was all my own work, so don't see a problem.

Yes thanks, but you will have to work it out yourself, all I will add is that the principals are the same. There are actually 2 tables using different hex values in each at different offsets. So should be even easier to work out.
