Vct2000 only works on older volvo, dice works on the newer ones. Since volvo vida 2010b the vct2000 interface is not supported anymore.

    Default Hi,

    Hi,
    VCT2000 -2010
    DiCE 2011-

2010A : J2534 and Dice, last version to use VCT2000
    2010B-: J2534 and Dice

Vehicle communication is based on J2534. J2534 is an interface common to all
vehicles for reprogramming control modules that can be connected to many
vehicles. There are two different versions of J2534.

? J2534-1 can be used to download software to vehicles from, and
including, model year 2004. J2534-1 manages software to control
modules on CAN HS (controller area network high speed) that are emission
related. J2534-1 cannot be used for diagnostics.
? J2534-2 manages software download to control modules on both CAN
HS (controller area network high speed) and CAN MS (controller area
    network middle speed).

The hardware used to validate VIDA's compliance with J2534 can be purchased
separately from third-party suppliers. The validation was done using the following
    J2534 pass-thru devices:
    ? J2534-1: Actia Passthru+ XS and CarDAQ2534
    ? J2534-2: CarDAQ Plus
I have not used a J2534 pass-thru, let us know how it works!

I have called Actia Support Line today. I asked If Passthru XS covers J2534-2 . He said yes with the latest driver 2.07 does cover it but his voice was not so convincing.

the function of connection to the car is different, VCT2000 use the series interface, Volvo DICE use the usb or bluetooth interface.

    Read Irolls post above.
You cannot use VCT2000 with Vida 2010D.
There is no easy or practial way of adding VCT2000 support to newer Vida versions.

    Or a VCT2000 .

Only Dice from 200000 and later Serial # .
Every dice serial# plus purchasing login , and the VIN is all recorded on the conformation file sent to the PIE server ,AFTER all is correct .

The Security drivers for 2011 D has changed .
