    Post dish elevation

    hope you guys can help me out i'm about to fit a 90cm dish and motor some time this week - the motor is a golsat hh metal gear and my latitude is 53 elevation is 37 then declination is 7.5 - the manual says subtract this from 40 to give me my elevation angle - this would be 32.5 and my scaling on dish only goes to 30 - in the past for my area for fixed system is approx 26 could anybody give me a heads up on this before i start the install - have a meter to help me out but never to sure ith these moving coil type meters, thanks in advance

    Fisrt thing to do is make sure your pole is absolutely Vertical. You then want the Dish pointing True South. Put your receiver on 1 degree west, you can do this by going to Free to air channel on the THOR satellite. With someone watching the Signal Strength on the TV , when the best is achieved 80/90% Lock your dish in that position. Move the dish via the motor to Astra check for signal strength and picture quality if satisfied Move 30 west Hipsat, if picture and signal OK all the sats in between OK.     jd , the op is needing to sort the setting on his motor , which should be set as per manufactures instructions , not tweaked .

    there should be a table in the back of the instructions booklet that came with the motor , for what settings to select for your location ,
    sorry i cant be any more help mate , but mine went up over a year ago , and my memory aint that good any more
