Default Perkins comm adaptor with CAT ET?

hi, has anyone used a Perkins comm adaptor with CAT ET? i have the perkins adaptor and was hoping to use it with ET rather than buy a new adaptor. Perkins EST is a copy of ET as cat own them. not sure if i might need to flash the adaptor & if i do that will it still work with perkins EST?

thanks for your respond but I want to connect Olympian genset (GEH 220) so I need to know the following:

    1. what's the adapter need ? (CAT comm. Adapter II or TIPPS or else)
    2. what's the software use ? (CAT ET or Perkins est or Olympian est or else).
    Notes:
    - Olympian genset was manufactured by perkins also exclusively from CAT dealer.
    - Olympian GEH 220 = Perkins 1300 (series)

Perkins TIPPS will work with CAT ET software. CAT ET and Perkins EST cannot function on the same machine. You must use separate laptops or uninstall one then install the other.

The perkins comm adapter is like Cat Comm Adaapter exepet for Perkins 1300 engines
they have a unique comm adapter and software
here is a presentation of 1300 ENGINES http://rapidshare.com/files/457191235/1300edi1.pdf
in page 57 you'll see the 1300 comm adapter and in page 58 you find how the software look alike.....

For OLYMPIAN - it is possible to use as EST from PERKINS and OLYMPIAN ET. Equally works and it is connected,Perkins comm adapter is like Cat Comm Adaapter exepet for Perkins 1300 engines , (Because the adapter supports the same J1939 data link), only the license it is necessary for Perkins EST: Full tipps support or Internal. and for Olympian ET: Full servise dialer (then it is possible to see as the control panel and ECM the engine) For 1300 motors other program and other adapter (it is possible to use Navistar service max, 1300 Perkins EDI (I spread here at a forum) also INTERNATIONAL programs is necessary. To be connected with NEXIQ PDM,SDM,USB data module and other plug. (or Perkins SDM) In any case there should be an adapter supporting J1708 or RP1210A data link. Also possible check error code by flash-lihts - the box thitch 2 buttons (red and green) and 2 flash lihts locate on generator, and on other side this box you find the diagnostic plug (5-pin deu) -is for engine ECM only. AND...The Best of The Best is NEXIQ- just needed many different diagnostic plug (all data link supported -for all !!!!)

Recently tried will be connected to OLYMPIAN with CATERPILLAR ET - fnds the ECM module but writes that such ECM is not supported.... Probably put in the same license, and it is possible, CAT ET at all does not work an Olympian genset

I was connected with Perkins EST to Olympian Power Wizard panel , all works, only could not make a flash-standard flash-file for FG Wilson
Power Wizard panel not support for Olympian Power Wizard panel .
    What will prompt?

Today I worked on Olympian GEH220 Genset with International/Perkins 1300 engine. I use Olympian EST with Nexiq USB link, tried J1708 6 pin connector, but could not establish connection to ECM.

I also tried CAT ET......no success.

    Engine does not start.

Please teach me how to connect.....

    Thank you.......
