    Default file or directory is corrupt and unreadable

    hi ive got a folder that i cant get rid of on my external hard drive.when i click on it i get an error msg saying its corrupt and unreadable.i cant delete it or do anything with it.does any1 know how to get rid without formatting the hard drive?

    you could try backing up all the files barring the corrupted file then formatting the hd to remove it.

    i agree with dasteph backup first before you do anything to make
    sure the data is safe.

    you can use file assassin to remove the file from your computer

    portable edition
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/FA_Portable.zip

    might also want to look for bad sectors on your hard drive.

    try to rese recover my files if there is any important files ,
    then format it , you may have a bad sector on it

    Thanks for the help i just put everything on another hard drive n then formatted it to get rid!sorted now
